23. Avarice Brings Loss
Mulier gallīnam habēbat, quae eī cotīdiē ūnum ōvum pariēbat. Illa ita exīstimābat: “Sī gallīnam meam sagīnābō, bīna aut terna ōva cotīdiē pariet.” Sed gallīna, iam pinguis, ōva parere dēsiit. Haec fābula docet avāritiam saepe esse damnōsam.
