Mulier quaedam habēbat gallīnam, quae eī cotīdiē ōvum pariēbat aureum. Mulier ita existimābat: “Mea gallīna sine dubiō massam aurī intus cēlat; si gallīnam occīdam, omne aurum statim possidēbō.” Itaque eam occidīt. Sed nihil in eā repperit nisi quod in aliīs gallīnīs reperīrī solet. Maiōribus dīvitiīs inhiābat; minōrēs etiam perdidit.
