Psychotria elata — the most kissed flower ever

This strange plant might look like the work of a PhotoShop guru, but in fact those red luscious kissable lips are really natural. They belong to the plant as Psychotria elata, affectionately called also Hooker’s Lips or the Hot Lips Plants.

It is a tropical tree and is found in the rain forests of Central and South American countries like Colombia, Costa Rica, Panama and Ecuador.

This flower has apparently evolved into its beatuful shape to attract pollinators including hummingbirds and butterflies. But in the same time this shape is causing him to be endangered due to uncontrolled deforestation. If you want kiss this flower, you must hurry up, as it’s bracts are only kissable for a short while, before they spread open to reveal the plant’s flowers.
